NYC condo and rental apartments - morningside heights

Morningside Heights condos and apartments for rents will meet the needs of renters and buyers who are keen to find apartments in NYC's Manhattan but who may have a more frugal budget. Because of it's proximity to Columbia University and Barnard College the area is rapidly gentrifying while the spaces remain large and relatively affordable. The area runs from West 110th Street or Cathedral Parkway to West 130th Street to the north with the eastern boundary being Fredrick Douglas Boulevard which runs North and South. The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is a beautiful Anglican Cathedral at the center of the neighborhood surrounded by a park which is open to the neighborhood; there are many community events in art and music held here throughout the year.

The Morningside Heights apartments are generally spacious prewar apartments, suitable for raising a family. There are now a few new condominiums available in this area too. Most shopping is along Broadway, where there are also a number of interesting restaurants and bars catering to the Columbia crowd. Walk west to Riverside Park and you will come to Grant's Tomb long a gathering place for NYCs teenagers.

Although most of the housing in this part of NYC is cooperative or rental, there has been some new condos developed in Morningside Heights as well.
